Young Adult (YA) is not my usual genre but I’d heard about this series and wanted to give them a go. I enjoyed the first book and the overall flow of the story and character development. Unfortunately I didn’t enjoy the second book as much but maybe it’s because I’m not a big YA reader. However, the third book has a bookish theme though, so I may round it out and finish the series to see how it ends.
- Themes / Content Warnings: this book touches on sensitive topics; death of a parent, lack of familial love in their absence – essentially a Cinderalla retelling, love those! Other topics; fame, blind connections, misunderstandings, crappy parents & siblings.
- Steam Rating & Romance Tropes: YA sweet romance – no steam or sexual tension but there is young adult romance and I’m here for it.
