This was a lucky bargain find for me. Can you believe I scored a beautiful hardback copy at Saks Off Fifth for only $4.97?! I didn’t find a single piece of clothing that interested me but of course I found books. Nothing like a good deal that turns out to be a great pick; overall I’d call that a major win.
Review & Notes: Overall, I really enjoyed this book. The format was unlike anything I’ve seen before and I thought it was such a clever way to bring everything together. Loved that the content was categorized and indexed in the beginning. It makes for an easy reference to whatever you’re interested in looking back at after you’ve read it.
I enjoyed most of the stories, essays, and profiles, and was inspired by the quotes and perspectives from professionals in the food world shared throughout the book. One of my favorite themes woven throughout the book is the incredible joy that comes from creating food in the kitchen and of bringing people together at the dining table. Food connects us and brings us together and this book was filled to the brim with inspirational stories and soundbites. There were also a handful of recipes I want to try, including the Grilled Salmon Taco recipe from Sara Forte.
Recommendation: I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it. It would also make for a lovely gift for any occasion.
