Arielle’s Review Notes
Book Format & Source: Hardback purchased via Book of the Month
Quick Take: I LOVED this book! Great topics and themes. Loved the academic setting and the character development. Enjoyed the storyline, the relationships, and the writing style. I loved that each chapter begins with a funny hypothesis that relates to the chapter.
Themes & Topics: Important emotional topics. Loss of family, cancer, motivation and passion that drives a professional endeavor. Being scared to open up and allow yourself to love because you’re scared of losing them.
My Review Rating: 5 / 5
Recommendation: Highly recommend this to all who enjoy romance. Thrilled that there’s another book coming out soon and only sorry I waited so long to read this one. I devoured it in two days, so good!
Romance Steam Rating & Tropes: R – mostly PG 13 but had a some super steamy scenes; Tropes: meet cute, fake relationship, close proximity, smidge of secret identity
Quote: Based on the available information and the data hitherto collected, my hypothesis is that the farther away I stay from love, the better off I will be.
Sharing is caring: If you enjoyed a book you read, one of the best things you can do for an author is to post a review on retailer book websites. Ratings and reviews (even super short reviews) are so incredibly helpful for both the author and future readers. Review shared: Amazon | Goodreads | StoryGraph
About the Author – From Bookshop.org
Ali Hazelwood is the New York Times bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis, as well as the writer of peer-reviewed articles about brain science, in which no one makes out and the ever after is not always happy. Originally from Italy, she lived in Germany and Japan before moving to the U.S. to pursue a Ph.D. in neuroscience. She recently became a professor, which absolutely terrifies her. When Ali is not at work, she can be found running, eating cake pops, or watching sci-fi movies with her two feline overlords (and her slightly-less-feline husband).
