Forests, Fishing, & Forgery (#3) by Tonya Kappes
Genre: Cozy Murder Mystery | Pub: 7.30.2018
Book Jacket Synopsis:
Welcome to Normal, Kentucky~ where nothing is normal.
It’s Labor Day weekend in Normal, and if you know anything about camping and RVing, you know it’s one of the busiest times of the year. Unfortunately, Daniel Boone National Park is in danger of being closed due to a drought and local businesses are scrambling for ideas to survive a possible shutdown.
Happy Trails Campground is at the center of a murder in which campers as well locals are suspects. It looks likely that a local resident is responsible for the dastardly deed since the victim is the one person who had the power to shut down the national park, which would be devastating to Normal’s small businesses.
Follow Mae West as she searches for clues to get to the bottom of this Labor Day campground caper!

Review & Thoughts:
- Another quick cozy murder mystery by Tonya Kappes.
- It has a touch of romance with a love triangle but it’s incredibly tame. The love triangle reminds me a bit of the Stephanie Plum series but without the spark of attraction. Gotta at least get a kiss here and there!
- One of my goals with my reading is to focus on enjoyment and also on takeaways. My takeaway from this book was to reinforce the idea that you should always trust your gut and the importance of pulling together all of the details to understand the full story when something happens.
- I’ve read the first three books in this cozy series and unfortunately I don’t think they’re as good as some of her other series. I’ve enjoyed her cozy paranormal series in the past.
