The Wedding Party by Jasmine Guillory
Genre: Romance
My Review Rating: ♥♥♥♥
351 Pages | Published: July 16, 2019 by Berkley
Book Jacket Synopsis
Maddie and Theo have two things in common:
1. Alexa is their best friend
2. They hate each other
After an “Oops, we made a mistake” kiss, neither one can stop thinking about the other. With Alexa’s wedding rapidly approaching, Maddie and Theo both share bridal party responsibilities that require more interaction with each other than they’re comfortable with. Underneath the sharp barbs they toss at each other is a simmering attraction that won’t fade. It builds until they find themselves sneaking off together to release some tension when Alexa isn’t looking.
But as with any engagement with a nemesis, there are unspoken rules that must be abided by. First and foremost, don’t fall in love.

Review & Thoughts
Initial Thoughts: I enjoyed the first two books in The Wedding Date series. The Wedding Party is the third of five books in the series.
Themes, Elements & Review Notes: The Wedding Party was a fun read but you definitely need to read the first two to understand the timelines of the story. At the beginning I was a little thrown off because the beginning of this book’s timeline coincides with the timeline of some of the first books. It took me a bit to realize where we were and what had and hadn’t happened yet.
Major theme of the novel was the fact that first impressions are not always accurate but unfortunately they heavily influence the way people’s relationships develop. I enjoyed Theo and Maddie’s story. Their situation played on the enemies to lovers trope which will appeal to many romance lovers. There was drama and chaos and situations that made the characters have new perspective on their jobs.
In a Nutshell: Fun enemies to lovers and secret relationship tropes. Enjoyable and worth continuing the series to books 4 and 5.
