December is the best time of the year to enjoy a festive read! I was delighted to unwrap ‘All About Us’ by Tom Ellen in the November ‘Books for Bubbly’ delivery from the Book Drop. I’d been looking for a fun holiday read that was different than my usual ‘Hallmark Channel Holiday Movie’ type read.

Review & Thoughts
All About Us by Tom Ellen
Published: October 13, 2020 by HQ
Paperback: 353 Pages
Initial Thoughts: I was delighted to unwrap this as I’d been looking for a fun holiday read that was different than my usual ‘Hallmark Channel Holiday Movie’ type read [which is one of my favorite genres].
Review Notes:
Interesting time-travel read. The main character Ben gets sent back in time to key days in his life. He gets to see a new perspective of events that happened, in ways that he previously missed. His new perspectives help guide him to have a deeper appreciation for his life and a newfound determination to make things right.
Themes, Elements & Notes:
Themes of honesty, trust, love, and loss. If you don’t love your life you can always make changes. You can change your attitude, you can make a career change, you can open up to the important people in your life with honesty and a true sense of what’s important in life. Ultimately, you can charge the narration of your life by changing your perspective if that leads you to make positive change.
A theme of the importance of being present. There’s so many small details that you can miss if you’re not fully present in the moment and sometimes those small details can make a world of a difference. Take time to look at your life and readjust if you’re not proud of what you’re doing or where you’re at. Take positive action to create positive change in your life.
In a Nutshell: Wonderful read. I enjoyed the author’s writing style and the overall plot and story development.
My Rating: 4.5 / 5 Stars
