A Passion for Reading
Reading has been a favorite hobby of mine since I was a little girl. My parents instilled a love of reading in me from a young age and that passion has continued to grow over the years.
I enjoy reading stories across a range of genres; women’s fiction, literary fiction, non-fiction, chick-lit, rom-com, (supernatural) cozy-mystery, memoir, and personal development; basically anything except thrillers and historical fiction. There was a large period of my life growing up where I was obsessed with book series such as Harry Potter, Twilight, Divergent, and the Hunger Games.
Then for a long time I read nothing but chick-lit, rom-coms, and cozy-mysteries. At some point I began to branch out and began adding literary fiction, memoirs, and personal development to the mix and I’m happy to say that I now enjoy a range of books. I tend to read one fiction to one non-fiction to change it up.
Getting Boxes in the Mail is the Best!
One of the best discoveries I’ve made as a reader is the Book of the Month subscription box. I joined Book of the Month in December and it’s broadened my reading world. So far I’ve read some truly wonderful stories and it’s lead me to select books I would’ve never considered otherwise. For a book lover, is there any thing better than getting Book Mail?!
Every month they have 5 featured books that you can choose from as that month’s selection. If you can’t decide on just one, you have the option to add on up to 2 additional books. Your add-on books can be from that month or from the full selection of books available on the site.
It’s a great way to find new books that you might not have considered and it’s a good deal too! If you don’t like the monthly featured books or you simply don’t want a new book at the moment, you can skip a month and you won’t be charged that month.
How Much Does it Cost?
Your first book is $9.99 if you sign up without a referral or you can get your first month for only $5 with my referral link. After your first month’s discount price, the month to month subscription is $14.99 per month. If you want to save money you can purchase an annual subscription for a $30 savings at $149.99, which comes to only $12.50 per month. Keep in mind that these books are all hardback copies and are brand new or early-release titles, which means most of the books would cost you around $16-$26 for a new hardback book.
