Collaborating with others is an exciting aspect of being a blogger. I recently had the opportunity to write a guest blog post for Lucy, author of Dream Love Focus Breathe, and after checking out her blog to learn about her mindset and her blog’s vibe I knew this was a great match with my own mindset and vibe. My guest blog post ‘Reading: A Lifetime Love Affair’ can be found on Lucy’s website. Keep reading for a taste of what you’ll find over at Dream Love Focus Breathe.
Here’s a small teaser from my guest blog post titled ‘Reading: A Lifetime Love Affair’:
A love of reading is one of the best gifts you can bestow upon a child and it’s important that this love be taught early on so that it can influence our lives and make us better people. Without literacy we would be lost and thus without reading we would be lost. I can’t imagine living in a world where reading wasn’t a large part of my life.
Positive words and ideas often provide motivation for people to take action to improve themselves and their lives. The power of the written word is one of the most incredible things in this world and reading is the catalyst to inspiration that oftentimes leads to greatness. Writers and authors that provide us with quality reading material are leaders in self-reflection and education.
The full guest blog post was posted today and can be read on Lucy’s blog Dream Love Focus Breathe. I’d love for you to check out the full post and come back here to let me know what you think!

Reading is so essential!! Last year I made it a habit to read daily, after many years neglecting my oldest of passions, and I swear every day I did not read, I could feel the difference! I just didn’t feel….whole. So yes, reading is so so important! <3
Books make my heart sing. I have not read these book or even heard of them. Thank you
Nice post! I’m a librarian so I wholeheartedly agree with you. I’ll definitely check the guest post out =)
I love talking about books! Your guest post sounds great!
I’m the same I can’t imagine my life without reading daily. It’s part of who I am
I am getting myself back nto reading again this year. I always start a book but never finish, so my goal is to at least read a book every month. Thanks for the reminder.
I’m so happy you have a lifetime love of reading! Do you remember when you were little and it was bedtime? I let you stay up an extra 30 minutes every night to read.
There’s nothing comparable to reading that exposes to knowledge. It opens up a new work with insight.
I’m definitely going to have to check out your guest post! Books are the best therapy. Nothing else dann take you to a whole new world the way they can!
I’ve always had a passion for reading as well and it’s something I’ve tried incredibly hard to ingrain in my children as well. There’s nothing like escaping your life and stepping into another when you’re buried in a good book.
I love reading. Making time for it sometimes requires a little extra time and creativity on my part but it’s so worth it. I will check it out as I havent read any of those books and it looks like some good ones.
I hated to read when I was younger. Well, I enjoyed it until I was forced to read in school (Accelerated Reader program was the worst). Then, once I was in college, I started reading again and now I read for about 30 minutes before bed almost every night!
Reading IS the best gift we can give our children. I always told my kids that if they learned to read well, they could teach themselves anything. Because all knowledge is some book somewhere. I certainly need to check out this post.
I love reading too! Sometimes I fall out of my routine and it really does make a difference in my overall mood, not to mention my vocabulary! Such a good habit for anyone to get in to!
It is fun to collaborate with other bloggers! These books all look great, can’t wait to read the entire post!!
I have always craved reading since I was a child staying up late under my covers with a book and a flashlight to now as an adult up too late with my kindle. I cant wait to read your guest post.
I really love to read and have since I was a kid. My kids don’t always enjoy it but I try to make it fun for them.
Thanks for the inspiration to make reading a regular part of my routine! It makes a difference!
One of the best books I have read lately is Dear Fahrenheit 451 by Annie Spence. It’s an easy ready, a librarian writing Dear John and love letters to books, but I liked it because I did laugh out loud, but also it gave me about 50 new books to read. I kept it in my purse for things like waiting in lines or in the parking lot picking my husband up from work. Def a travel friendly book that might add some fun into your girl boss emporium!
ooo Katie thanks for the recommendation, I’ll have to go check that out!
Girl boss is awesome! I need to get the Girl Boss workbook too! I used to read so much but I havent been taking enough time out for myself lately, and I really want to start reading again! Its so relaxing!
Congrats on collaborating with someone who fits your blogs mindset. I collaborated for the month of January, and it was pretty crazy. I can’t even begin to talk about how much work it was, but it was a lot of fun. I do love reading. Maybe it’s why I work at a library. Reading can takes you so many different places and you learn so many different things.
I love reading when I can make time for it in my busy schedule. And the #girlboss books are fantastic!
I’m not a fan of reading books because I can’t seem to concentrate. Thanks for sharing Lucy’s blog Dream Love Focus Breathe. I’m going to check it out now.
I’ve never done a guest blog on mine but sounds like an amazing idea! I’ve seen Girl Boss on Netflix and was sad it got cancelled–gotta check out the book too!
I love curling up with a good book! E-Readers just aren’t the same. Congratulations on your guest post!
Honestly, I don’t have the time to read. But ‘m sure this is a great book.
How fun! Going to go read your guest post now.

Great message! I have always loved reading and as a parent & educator the importance of modeling literacy can never be overdone. Enjoyed your guest post and found a couple self improvement titles I’d like to check out!
I’ve always loved to read too! It’s relaxing for me!
I love reading, and I am always grateful whenever I see books review. Thanks for sharing.
