The Girl’s Guide to Getting Hitched by Sophie Hart
My Review:
I loved this novel! I started reading it a few days before my boyfriend’s brother was getting married. I thought the title was appropriate to get me in the wedding mood!
This novel was entertaining and insightful on different perspectives for different relationships where the people involved were getting ready to saying ‘I Do’ or had recently said ‘I Do’. One relationship was on the early side, one around the ‘normal expected’ age, and one as a second marriage in mid-adulthood.
I enjoyed the way the women came together at different points in their lives and found common ground. Watching them make connections and live their lives while trying figuring it all out was entertaining. Nothing is ever perfect and often times the things that seem perfect are a jumbled mess beneath the surface. Having children is important to many young couples hoping to start a family, but you can’t forget to take care of yourselves and one another. You can’t underestimate the importance of making time to nurture your adult relationships in order to live a happy life.
There are a handful of interesting characters in this book and overall it was downright entertaining. I’d recommend it to all who love women’s fiction with a good dose of humor and a splash of romance.
My Rating: 5/5 Stars
