My Review
The novel had me laughing from page one. Great imagery and a laugh out loud situation that could happen to anyone. Not Quite Forever is a story about Dakota Laurens, a popular romance writer. While speaking at a writer’s convention, she unexpectedly meets a man that may or may not be in her life for a while.
I enjoyed Dakota and Walt’s story. Humorous, suspenseful, dramatic, and filled with lots of love. Although Dakota is famous for writing steamy novels, I was happy to find that this novel was not one of those. I’m all for women empowering themselves and reading whatever makes them happy, but I personally don’t generally enjoy erotic romance. I prefer novels exactly the way this one was written, with a bit of detail and an assumption about intimacy, but not filled with full-blown sex scenes. I enjoyed this novel and the author’s writing style. I’m looking forward to reading more of her writing by going back and reading some of her previously released works.
