A New Tradition by Tonya Kappes
Book Blurb: ***2013 WINNER OF THE BEST INDIE ROMANCE NOVELLA***
A NEW TRADITION is the winner 2013 Indie Romance Convention Readers Choice Nominee for Best Indie Romance Novella
For Sabrina Englehardt, Christmas has always been a special day filled with family, friends, and a wacky tradition of watching Breakfast At Tiffany’s while dressed up in the stars costumes. . .…tiara and all.
Sabrina’s biggest client insists on having a Skype call on Christmas day to secure a deal of a lifetime, which is fine with her, because this year she’s going to make a new tradition, celebrating Christmas alone with her cat at her snowy remote family cabin as family and friends go their separate ways to celebrate the holiday.
When everything starts to go array,
Sabrina has to call on her hunky neighbor for help in order to secure the deal of a lifetime.
Will it all work out or will Sabrina pull the quilt over her head waiting for Christmas to be over?

My Review
Sabrina has a borderline unhealthy obsession with Audrey Hepburn that’s quite entertaining. How ironic that her parents named her Sabrina, yet Breakfast at Tiffany’s is her favorite Audrey film. I’m not sure if there was an editing issue at some point and a different version of the book, as the book description on Goodreads says the main character is Holly, which would be in line with the Breakfast at Tiffany’s aspect, but Amazon says Sabrina. I’m personally a huge fan of Sabrina and Roman Holiday, and I know this is almost sacrilegious to say, but I’ve always thought Breakfast at Tiffany’s is a bit overrated. Don’t get me wrong, I love Audrey, and there are parts of the movie that I do love, but I remember the first time I watched the movie I was super disappointed because everyone was always going on about how fantastic the movie is.
A New Tradition was a charming, quick christmas read by one of my favorite authors. Although the ending was a tad unrealistic, it was so adorable! I’ll have to check and see if it was a prequel to a full length novel, because I would definitely want to continue reading Sabrina’s story.
4/ 5 stars
I received a copy of the novella when it was free on Amazon for a limited time. It currently sells for $0.99 on Amazon.
