I must admit that this book review is long overdue. Somehow life has gotten busy and my book reviews have been neglected… I’ve been reading faster than my schedule has allowed me to make the time to sit down and write reviews. But nevertheless, here it is! Rich Amooi is one of my favorite authors that writes romantic comedies. His writing style is fun, fresh and completely laugh-out-loud hilarious. If you’ve never read any of his novels, you’re seriously missing out and need to remedy that right now! He writes stand-alone novels, so you can read this one now and then work your way into his previous ones at your leisure.

Warning: May cause happiness and laughter.
Summer is finally here and Geography teacher Sara Larson has exactly one month to find the perfect date for the wedding of a high school rival. The odds seem stacked against her, but the last thing she wants is to sit at the kids’ table again. Or even worse, the singles’ table. While trudging through an assortment of certified losers, Sara fights her attraction towards Ian, the irresistible guy next door.
Art teacher Ian McBride has a dream of opening his own gallery, but for now he’s focused on sculpting a gift for his grandparents’ fiftieth anniversary and enjoying a relaxing summer. However, Ian is blind-sided when crazy, beautiful Sara and her giant dog move in next door and rock his world. Too bad she wants nothing to do with him.
How can Sara avoid the attraction that sizzles between them and stick to her rule of not dating neighbors? As far as Ian’s concerned, the prince Sara is looking for is right under her nose. And one kiss just might change everything.
KISSING FROGS is a fun, fast-paced romantic comedy guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Let the fun begin!

My Review – Kissing Frogs
Sara just moved to Silicon Valley where she got a job as a middle school geography teacher. Since she’s on summer break, she’s got more than enough time to continue her search for a respectable man to date. You’d think there’d be plenty of decent men to choose from with her being a young beautiful single woman in Silicon Valley, but she’s got terrible luck with men and hasn’t managed to find anyone worth a second date. Then her sexy new neighbor comes into play when she realizes that her former high school friend [rival] is getting married in less than a month and she needs to find a date that will make everyone jealous. In an attempt to ignore her irritating [yet sexy] neighbor Ian, Sara tries her hand at online dating to find a suitable date for the wedding to wow Tiffany. One after another, the men that Sara goes out on dates with just keep getting worse!!! While trying online dating, Sara’s been strolling through the dating pond with a bunch of frogs when all she wants to do is date the frog next door that just might turn out to be a prince.
This was a charming and hilarious story about love. One of the main themes in the novel is about falling in love and not succumbing to what anyone else thinks by staying true to what you know is right. Another important theme was about following your heart and pursuing your passions, and not letting anyone tell you you’re not worthy and that you’re wasting your time. You don’t always have to choose the safe path, sometimes you have to go for what you want to get what you deserve.
Another 5 star winner written in Rich’s signature humorous tone. If you haven’t picked this one up, go get yourself a copy, right now! And if you haven’t read his first two novels, get those while you’re at it!! [Also, his latest novel Mr. Crotchety was recently released, look out for my review on that one soon too!]
