Pretty Shore (Astonvale #2) by Carla Caruso
Publication Date: December 1, 2014
Professional organiser Celeste Pretty has a summer getaway planned in well-to-do Robe, the ‘Hamptons’ of Australia. She’s staying at the beach ‘shack’ of her hunky new builder beau, Lenny Muscat. The first week she’ll de-clutter the holiday home of fashion designer Sabine Cloud with her assistant, Flip Belmont. Then she’ll enjoy loved-up bliss with Lenny.
But despite Celeste’s penchant for organisation, things have a way of veering off-script. She soon discovers the last person who occupied Sabine’s pad – the designer’s model daughter, Romy – died from a possible overdose. Plus, Sabine’s uber-glam real estate agent seems intent on throwing herself at Lenny. Meanwhile, Flip is distracted by the bad-boy son of a rock star, Blaise Zenith, who some say is responsible for Romy going off the rails.
And Celeste thought sunburn and sand in the house were all she’d have to worry about these holidays.

My Review
Pretty Shore is the second novel in the Astonvale series. The novel continues the story of Celeste Pretty and her gorgeous boyfriend Lenny Muscat. They’ve decided to take their first vacation together at his beach home in Robe in the Hamptons in South Australia and they’re ready to relax in paradise.
But with a new high profile client and a feisty assistant that makes an interesting new friend, will they be able to let loose and enjoy their vacation? Will Lenny get bored of Celeste and find himself a new love interest or is he in it for the long haul?
Filled with interesting characters and new relationships brewing, Pretty Shore was exactly what I wanted. It is an entertaining second installment of Celeste Pretty’s life; a fun novel with a bit of drama, chaos and secrets thrown into the mix. The story had me flipping the page to find out more to discover the secrets that lied within.
Great character development, a dreamy tropical holiday location and suspenseful twists and turns made this romantic comedy mystery thoroughly enjoyable. Pretty Shore is another great example of why Carla Caruso is one of my favorite go-to authors!
My Rating: 5/5 Stars

Carla Caruso
Carla Caruso was born in Adelaide, grew up amid a boisterous extended Italian family – yet somehow managed to become a bookworm…
Carla always wanted to be a novelist, annoying the kindergarten teachers by dictating long, detailed stories to them. It just took her a while to realise her childhood dream – journalism seemed a more practical course. Her media career has included stints as a newspaper and magazine journalist, government PR and fashion stylist. These days, she works as a freelance journalist and copywriter. She began seriously writing fiction three years ago when she went freelance full-time.
The romance genre appeals as she is a sucker for rom-coms (especially if Channing Tatum is in the mix) and likes to think her Italian ancestry means she lives with passion. Hobbies include watching trashy TV shows, fashion (her mum named her after Carla Zampatti!), astrology and running. She lives in Adelaide.
