I’m just like anybody else, insecure and scared of looking bad or being criticized…I want women to love themselves whatever they’ve got going on.

My Commentary: Since I’m not much of a country music fan, I’ve never personally been a fan of Lambert’s music. However, as an individual, I admire her for her strength and confidence. She’s pushed past speculation of marital issues and in my eyes the most unfortunate aspect of the major media discussion recently was of her fluctuating weight. I can’t speak for everyone in the world, but I have my own comfortable weight range and when I get to the heavier end of that range is generally when I start eating a bit better and exercising more. That’s not to say that my weight, or anyone else’s weight, should be such a constant and negative conversation that has such an important impact on the lives of others. So what if someone is a bit heavy and they’ve put on weight? So what if we have a little jiggle and cellulite, it’s part of being a woman! We need to work harder to support women and do our best to not tear them down because of something as insignificant as if they can fit into a size 6 pant. <3
