Wow! I can’t believe it’s already September!!
Happy Labor Day… to anyone that doesn’t work retail! This was my first Labor Day that I actually had off work in four years. I worked as an Assistant Manager at Nordstrom for three years and I never got a single Labor Day off. Mind you, I was given an extra day off later in the week, but there’s nothing like getting a real 3-day weekend during the timeframe that you’re supposed to get it. For the past three years, Labor Day was a bit ironic for me; we have a day that celebrates the hard-work and dedication that our working class puts in and I was always stuck ‘celebrating’ at work. Fantastic. Needless to say, I was excited to be able to enjoy my Labor Day weekend at home with friends and family.
One of the best parts about it being September is that it is officially NetGalley Month for me and my fellow book reviewing bloggers. In honor of Chicks That Read‘s NetGalley Month, I will be reading and reviewing as many books as possible this month in an effort to raise our personal reading to review ratios. I am almost done reading my first book and will be posting a review soon, so be on the lookout for more fabulous books to add to your reading lists!
